ABC Radio provides regular updates during emergencies like floods, bushfires and cyclones.
There are three ways you can listen for information during an emergency.
- 1.Visit reception.abc.net.au to find your local radio frequency. Write it down — for example ABC Bendigo 91.1 FM — and stick it to the battery-powered radio in your emergency survival kit. You can also tune the frequency to one of your car radio preset stations.
- 2.Download the ABC listen app so you can listen to your local ABC Radio station wherever you are. If you add your local station as a favourite, it'll make it quicker to listen in an emergency.
- 3.Stream any ABC station from around Australia online at any time on the ABC listen website. If you have loved ones in an emergency, you can hear the latest warnings for their location by listening to the ABC radio station where they live.
ABC Emergency information and warnings are available on social media too
Follow your local ABC Facebook page for real-time updates as the situation changes. If you're not sure, you can find the name of your local station on ABC listen or at reception.abc.net.au and then search for that station — for example, ABC Southern Queensland — in Facebook.
