This DIY is from our beloved Ginger and the Vegesaurs! Today we will be making a Ginger mask and some cheeky Pea-rexes to sit on your child's shoulder...
You will need
- Paper plates
- Cardboard
- Green cupcake liners
- Orange paint
- Elastic or Icey pole stick
- Safety pins
- Googley eyes if you have them!
Step by Step: Ginger and the Vegesaurs Costume
Let’s make a Ginger mask! First, take your paper plates and paint both sides with any orange paint you have. Once dry, take your first plate and cut off a third with a slightly rounded edge. Draw 2 eye holes on the back and then cut them out, (be sure to measure this to suit your child's face). Take the second plate and draw a scalloped edge around half the plate. Roughly cut it out to make Gingers frill. Use the other half of the plate to cut out 3 cone shapes to make gingers horns. You could make a template for this step if you’d like. Then glue the frill and horns onto your plate. Add a stick just off to the side or elastic to hold your Ginger mask in place.
Now let’s make some cheeky Pea-rexes! Take 3 cupcake liners and squish them flat. Cut out 3 green circles to stick in the base of each liner. Add some googley eyes (or you can draw them) and add a smile and some fangs. It’s not necessary but we added a pipecleaner for the peas arms. Once complete, stick a safety pin to the back of your cupcake liners and then attach these cheeky peas to your little ones shoulders
Gingers Carrot tail is an optional extra! Take some lengths of green crepe paper and stick them together to make Gingers bushy carrot tail.
TIP: Complete this adorable Vegesaurs costume with an orange t-shirt!
